| ADOPT A SCHOOL PROGRAM As a way of giving something back to our local community, POS actively supports the Recovery School District's Adopt a School program. The members of POS have selected Baudit Elementary School and will work with the staff and students "to build respect for life, property and learning,” a major focus of the school district. |
| SUPPORT POLITICAL CANDIDATES During election times, POS selects a candidate that they feel is capable of making a change that will better the lives of the individuals who they will represent while in office. POS gives their political support by canvassing neighborhoods, sponsoring meet and greet socials, or by making a small monetary donations. Click Here for Photos |
| SENIOR CITIZEN OUTREACH Because of POS' strong sense of family, the members established a senior citizens' Home Help Assist Program. Through this referral based program, the members of POS assist senior citizens in the New Orleans Metropolitan area with chores such as home interior and exterior clean-up, home repairs, yard work and running errands. |
| A MENTOR/TUTOR PROGRAM Since there is a significant number of students in Orleans Parish who are not acquiring the basic skills needed for proficiency in the core academic subjects. POS members assist individual students in grades K–6 grade in their learning process by providing mentoring and tutoring. |

| HOMELESS CARE DAYS People Of Substance delivers nutritionally balanced hot meals for to the homeless individuals to eat for lunch and dinner. "Direct delivery of meals to client's homes means that not only will he or she eat a well-balanced meal, but will receive much needed personal contact with another human being.
